Blog Parody

There was an article in today's paper about this blog site--"an astutely sharp spoof of a recent Web phenomenon: the married Mormon blog, in which LDS women (and it's almost always women) write about their family doings, post photos of their kids, and decorate with backgrounds, musical play lists and widgets. It's scrapbooking in a form that everybody, from your neighbors in the ward to people on the other side of the world can see."

So, if you're interested, here's the link: http://www.seriouslysoblessed.blogspot.com/

Oh, and since I'm blogging (AGAIN), may as well include some cute Rachel pix.
P.S. Does anyone know how to control where pictures and text land before posting? I sure haven't figured it out, but it seems there's no real control with putting pix where you want them. Then again, if I continue to be this crazed blog lady, I'll probably figure it out sooner than later.
P.P.S. I've decided blogging is no fun unless people comment on your blogs, so comment away and I'll try to do the same with all your new blogs.
P.P.P.S. Blogging is just a cover for procrastinating on other, less fun projects, don't you think?

I LOVE Love that you are blogging and check on you often. I have tried to put a damper on my checking others and commenting, though, when I can't even keep mine up, but how could I resist your sweet pleading?! Rachel is darling and I can't believe how big she is. And as procrastinating as it may be...I truly think "healthy mental therapy" is a more appropriate phrase! Happy blogging!

Comments are the best part of blogging. It's nice to know that you're not just talking to thin air!!
I looked at that blog and it made me giggle...

Time to stop "procrastinating." My to-do list is still a mile long. But now I get to work on things that a little more fun!

Ah, that's the beauty of blog surfing at work - no to-do list. No, wait. Dang, i do have a to-do list, crap! If you really want to control your layout more then use the html section for posting. It's not great, but it's better than the other.

Ha Ha... Dacia actually has that blog linked on the side of her blog. I LOL'ed (proper blog lingo here!) so hard when I first started reading through it, but after awhile I think I felt attacked, just a tiny bit. It all depends on who's writing the blog... is she LDS and making fun of herself or is she ex-LDS making fun of all of us? Makes a big difference in how you react to her satire. Either way, she's funny. And I'm definitely procrastinating my entire life with my blogging habits. *sigh* But I'm glad you're blogging away finallY! Is your family finally checking it out on occasion? Just to see pics of Rachel?

Thanks, all, for the comments! And thanks, Sara, for checking on us often. Your blog, I'm sorry to say, always makes me feel guilty, because there's usually a cool video of your cute kids and I've got a whole stockpile of recorded stuff that I have yet to do anything with. I'm intimidated by turning my rough footage into cool movies (though I desperately want to), since I don't know what I'm doing.

Regarding the blog spoof, the person who does this is a 25 year-old married LDS woman who lives in Utah and is a recent mom. She started it as a joke for friends, so I think she's making fun of herself as much as anyone else. She returns to grad school in the fall, according to the article.

I still need to email my family with by blog link, which I will do soon.

Does this recent phenomenon mean I may NEVER see our Running Scrapbook/Photo Journal??? Does this mean it may forever be mired in the 29th spot on your To-Do List???
Sigh....Oh well, isn't it nice we have at least SOME semblance of one already in another blog - of all places?!?
Go for it! I suspect you can write with the best of them! (And I'll consider the more frequent offering of Mac & Cheese for dinner a very small price to pay!)

We are all glad when you post more blogs and glad when you comment on ours (rather than just grumbling that we don't post comments on yours ;)
I love that site! I guess I haven't read it enough to feel attacked- I just think she is dang funny!
